Snowball lace
Snowball lace is characterised by distinctive, three-dimensional beads that rise from the surface and which are visually effective. The complicated production process, which once was an exemplary highlight in the heyday of the Plauener Spitze around 1900, was forgotten for a long time. The precise and difficult production technique was rediscovered by Kati Reuter as part of her diploma thesis. In the course of product development, she revived the snowball lace and received the design award Plauen “Embroidery stitch 008”.
